Broken Rondo is a one-movement English horn concerto by Miguel del Aguila, the three-time Grammy nominated American composer. In more than 115 works that couple drama and driving rhythm with nostalgic nods to his South American roots, he has established himself among the most distinctive and highly regarded composers of his generation. The work was commissioned by Johanna Cox Pennington, the Associate Professor of Oboe at Louisiana State University School of Music.
Miguel del Aquila Concerto for English Horn and Chamber Orchestra was recorded at Esplanade Studios in 2018 and will be released by Albany Records, a company devoted to music by American composers. Three artists previously recorded by Albany Records were winners in the 2017 Global Music Awards. (via app)
