On August 28th, Beach House will return with a brand new album called Depression Cherry. Due out through Sub Pop Records, the nine-track LP follows 2012’s superb Bloom and serves as the dream pop duo’s fifth to date. It was recorded and produced by the band with the help of longtime collaborator Chris Coady (Future Islands, Wavves) at Studio in the Country in Bogalusa, Louisiana.
According to a press release, Depression Cherry will be see the Baltimore two-piece crank up the volume and explore unchartered sonic waters:
"In general, this record shows a return to simplicity, with songs structured around a melody and a few instruments, with live drums playing a far lesser role. With the growing success of Teen Dream and Bloom, the larger stages and bigger rooms naturally drove us towards a louder, more aggressive place; a place farther from our natural tendencies. Here, we continue to let ourselves evolve while fully ignoring the commercial context in which we exist."
2.11.19 – Six Louisiana performers honored with music’s top awards
12.22.17 – A sprawling but satisfying new box set featuring Hank Williams, Elvis Presley predicts the direction of modern American music. The Louisiana Hayride was one of dozens of syndicated radio broadcasts scattered across America in the wake of World War II. Most of these have been forgotten to all but historians, but the Louisiana Hayride endures, albeit not to the extent of its rival and role model, the Grand Ole Opry.
12.1.17 – 17 year old local student James Linden Hogg, Louisiana's State Fiddle Champ, recently released his latest CD album, "College Fund Volume 2".
