Grammys 2016: Preservation Hall Band Second-Lines With Trombone Shorty, Dave Grohl

The 2016 Grammys officially got started Monday (Feb. 15) when Taylor Swift hit the stage to sing "Out of the Woods," but the party really began just moments earlier with a little New Orleans flair.

The Preservation Hall Jazz Band took a second-line through the star-studded crowd led by Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters and Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews.

It was hardly the first collaboration for the musicians of the Preservation Hall band and Grohl, who have worked together before onstage in New Orleans at Preservation Hall. 

Grohl and the rest of the Foo Fighters were also in the city for filming the band's "Sonic Highways" documentary for HBO. The documentary series was nominated for a 2016 Grammy in the Best Music Film category, but Amy Winehouse documentary "Amy" ended up taking the win. 

Louisiana had already taken home a pair of wins at the Grammys by the time the Preservation Hall Jazz Band paraded through the audience. New Orleans resident Jon Cleary's "GoGo Juice" won the musician his first-ever Grammy, and Buddy Guy took home another, as well.

Both of those awards were announced during the pre-telecast ceremony, which was streamed online from the Microsoft Theater before the big, glamorous show got underway later in the evening.
